Tinted glasses and escapist policing

At a meeting with very senior po-lice officers last week, the In-spector-General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar, affirmed that motorists who drive vehicles with tinted glasses will be arrested.
IT was not my first time en-joying the services of Emi-rates Airlines, but the only dawned on me during a trip last December: In the desert of the deeply religious United Arab Emirates (UAE), business and piety are held separate.
In the good days of their highly revered national Leader and role model the Right Honourable Chief Obafemi Awolowo, the Yoruba were easily the most learned, the most advanced, the most sophisticated, and certainly the most politically conscious of the 250 or so ethnic nationalities in Nigeria. In fact if and when Chief Awolowo sneezed the entire country caught fever, and other national leaders got frightened.
I was going to give thanks to God for the great political reconciliation that had taken place in Edo State when I saw the birthday advertisement placed by the Peoples Democratic Party for the 60th birthday of Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.
Thank God you guys are back. I like your column on the crisis of confidence between the PDP and ACN. Which of them are you supporting because at the end of the column, I got confused. Well, it is good that nobody knows your position on the two 'unserious' parties. Well done.
