Founded about 103 years ago,the Nigerian Girl Guides Association, a member of the World Girl Guides and Girls’ Scout now has over 100,000 members across 146 countries of the world. One of the objectives of the association is to help the girl child discover her talents and harness such and also to develop a total girl child into an adult that will be useful to herself and the society as a whole. Last week, the association held its national conference at the head office in Ikoyi, Lagos aimed at reassessing the condition of Nigerian girl child and to proffer solutions to some of the challenges confronting the female youths especially in the area of education.
