MultiChoice lauds dealers’ entrepreneurial drive

MultiChoice Nigeria yesterday showered praises on its dealers across the country for its success in growing the vast network of subscribers and helping to take services into the homes of Nigerians.

The Managing Director of MultiChoice Nigeria, John Ugbe, attributed the successes of the company over the years to the entrepreneurial spirit and keen sense to grow the business shown by the super dealers.

The dealers, who were feted at the 2012 edition of MultiChoice Nigeria Super Dealers Award Night held in Lagos, were specially praised for the roles played in growing their franchises into big businesses, employing thousands of people, providing many Nigerians their source of livelihood and opportunities to expand the scope of the franchise.

“Even in difficult and challenging conditions as we have seen in some parts of the country, dealers ensured that our products were made available to subscribers, complaints were treated with dispatch, and the business continues to grow,” Ugbe said.

He also said that before the awards night, the dealers had visited and made donations to a hospice as well as a home for the blind in Lagos, with contributions pooled together with contribution from MultiChoice.

He added that the night represented what MultiChoice Nigeria is also all about.

In his word, “Look around, you will see that MultiChoice is a truly Nigerian company. We started this journey a few years ago with only five dealers; now we have 54 dealers who have in turn opened offices in different locations across the country, providing jobs and experience to thousands of young Nigerians. For us at MultiChoice, that is a true success story”.

Announcing the highest sales nationwide in the 2012 edition, he thanked North East dealers for serving subscribers, despite the challenges in that region. “It was important to recognize the dealer with the highest sales in the North East region; praise also goes to all our dealers in that region who face challenges on a daily basis in taking DStv services to different homes”, he added.

The Managing Director of MultiChoice Nigeria, John Ugbe, however, thanked MultiChoice Nigeria partners who have been behind the pay TV provider over the years, which include FCMB, Stanbic IBTC Bank, Zenith Bank and Absat among others.

“Our partners have been behind us all these years from when we had just a few products. Now we have many products, with DStv Mobile and GOtv joining our stable, offering Nigerians more choices and ease of accessing our bouquet of products.”

Among the highlights of the night was RADAC Communications System who won the award for the highest sales nationwide in 2012, with the recognition coming with a brand new Hilux mini truck, a luxury trip abroad for two to three European countries and cash prize.

Other winners include JEGGFAN in the Emerging Category award for DSTV Mobile; RADAC for Emerging Category  Award for GOtv; First Regional for Compliance Award; Cable Digit for Most Innovative Award; Paulsco Electronics for Best Technical Award; East Atlantic Network Limited and Fermod International and for Best Customer Service Awards; Kazzy Telecommunications for Highest Sales, South West Award; Intesat Services Limited for Highest Sales South East Award; Al’ Yuhad for Highest Sales Northern Region; Slake for Highest Sales North Central Award; Poyen Nomovo Nigeria Limited for second runner up Highest Sales Nationwide Award and Intesat Services Limited for first runner up Highest Sales Nationwide Award.

“Beyond the awards and the prizes that go with them is that the Super Dealers have been an integral part of our business and we have deliberately invested in helping to grow the business process and expertise and hopefully, this knowledge will continue to drive the growth of the business and other businesses that the Super Dealers have. Ultimately, the economy and Nigerians are the beneficiaries,” concluded Mr. Ugbe.
